A space to express, learn, and grow.
Pause is a reflective writing studio.
Through guided writing, people strengthen their attention, expression, and awareness.
Kuala Lumpur based.

Pause may resonate with you if you sometimes feel:
like there is a lot inside you, but it’s hard to put into words
like your thoughts feel tangled or foggy
like you carry things you don’t always say out loud
like you want to understand your inner world more clearly
Writing gives those experiences a place to go.
When thoughts and emotions appear in writing, many people find the fog begins to lift. What once felt overwhelming becomes something they can see, understand, and learn from.

Guided writing and structured reflection
A simple place to start
Designed for people who want a place to write through what they’re experiencing—and begin to make sense of it.
Across several weeks, you will develop a simple writing practice.
Through guided writing, you begin to notice what is coming up for you—thoughts, emotions, and patterns that may have felt unclear or overwhelming before.
Over time, this strengthens your ability to understand yourself more clearly and respond to your experience with more awareness.

“This was my first reflective writing session — I’ve only attended journalling workshops before. Pause is completely different. I gained clarity and awareness I didn’t expect. The session was awesome."
“Yasmin was a wonderful facilitator. The way she guided the session helped me let go of burdens I didn’t realise I was carrying. I left feeling lighter and more connected to myself."
Pause is a reflective writing studio founded by Yasmin.
The work centres on helping people make sense of their inner experience—through writing, noticing patterns, and learning from what they see.
Pause frameworks are original programme designs grounded in reflective and expressive writing approaches used in education and adult learning.
Years of personal reflective writing practice inform how each programme is designed and facilitated.
There are things in life that are hard to say out loud.
Thoughts we don’t always know how to express.
Feelings that are too complicated to explain.
Sometimes we just keep them to ourselves.
Writing gives those experiences somewhere to go.
When we write, we begin to see what is happening inside us.
Thoughts become clearer.
Feelings we hadn’t noticed before begin to appear.
Sometimes the page is the only place our world can exist.
Writing is simple. It requires very little—just a place to write.
Pause exists to create guided writing spaces where people can express themselves, notice what they are experiencing, and learn from their experience.

Our work centres on growing capacity in these areas:
Expression
Putting complex thoughts into words.
Self-awareness
Noticing your inner life.
Self-compassion
Relating to yourself with care.
Learning and reflection
Turning awareness into insight.
Pause offers facilitated programmes and workshops for organisations, educational institutions, and community groups.
Sessions are adapted to context while remaining rooted in reflective development principles.
Demo sessions available upon request.
